NEUROMUSCULAR DENTISTRY
In his pursuit of continued education in the field of dentistry, Dr. Marson has realized that complete oral health is about more than teeth and gums. This is why he believes it is in the best interest of our patients to offer procedures in neuromuscular dentistry.
Neuromuscular dentistry (NMD) evaluates your overall oral health by checking the relationship of your teeth, head and neck muscles. When these are out of alignment, occlusion or “bite” issues can develop. This can lead to grinding, worn teeth and sensitive teeth. We now have new procedures to analyze bite issues and determine if treatment is needed.
There are a variety of signs and symptoms associated with poor occlusion. Some of these are listed here.
- Jaw joint noise or clicking
