What is this blog thing? Welcome to 2008 Dr. Marson! Well...here I am, and I am very excited to be able to communicate with everyone this way. I will use this forum to pass along my musings on all things (except politics and religion!), but especially my passion for all phases of Neuromuscular Dentistry. What is Neuromuscular Dentistry you ask? (You did ask, didn’t you?). It is the science of occlusion encompassing not only the teeth, but the objective evaluation of the status and function of the jaw muscles and joints — before, during and after treatment — to achieve the optimal result. In other words, we find the right balance between the teeth, muscles and joints to create a comfortable bite. If I have one vice, it is my desire to learn as much about this subject as possible so I can help relieve pain and prevent future issues with my patients. There is some very interesting information on this subject that you may not believe is related to the bite, but I will pass on the information and try my best to explain to you why it applies to dentistry and possibly yourself.
